RAISING THE BAR TO GREATNESS

We are living in a time where anything is beyond possible and that dreams are just the beginning. That if your willing to work hard and put your mind to it then you can have and achieve it. Limitations are only for those who never try or seek to fail from the start. And never really wanted to see their dreams come true. This year alone should have shown us that time is not only limited but even the great are falling to soon. That life is only a one time shot and when you get a second chance to make up for mistakes or just simply not living take it! This life is so unpredictable and we spend so much time in gossip and rumors and destroying each other we not living. The energy you putting in others lives you could be putting in your own and furthering your future and goals.

I have seen some of the most beautiful queens fall for a man and fall to pressure of the world. Your a queen and your crown was stripped for what and when are you going to get it back? We are all beautiful and we all have dreams that deserve to be seen and you never know what you can do or change. Queens who deserve to been seen as such and not looked at less then that or valued less. We are proud women and we walk with strength and courage daily but yet we fall to pressure and what the world thinks what is and should be. I'm a queen who knows what I'm worth and knows what I capable of doing in this world. Don't get me wrong there are times when I second guess myself and wonder why thing are the way they are. Why can't he see I'm the best he'll ever get, and why doesn't he know what he makes me feel? How come I'm not good enough to be his girl but I'm good enough for you to use? These questions will never be answered because the truth is I'm better and your better than that. We are more then objects of beauty we are women who generate the nations. We are women who carry the efforts of struggle on our shoulders. We are the very backbone of this nation and the mothers of the leaders, and the very women who have the power to control it. We are more then mere objects of beauty or bodies but we are the reason your still here, we need to remind our self of that!

Nas - One Mic (Official Music Video) - Click here for another funny movie.

My kings what has happen to you and why are you all acting less then that? What happen to your thrown and your pride in yourself? You want a queen but acting like a joker you'll never get one and if you do you'll lose her if you don't wake up soon! Your losing all respect and what happen to working hard and holding us up when we need you? Your crowns are being lost among players and thieves. Your queens are being destroyed by neglect and insecurities they are losing the very beauty and innocents we need in this world. We need to remind you that your kings and if you want to be treated that way step up!

Will Smith Ft Mary J Blige- Tell My Why - For more funny movies, click here

We need to learn that if you have haters your doing things right, because haters only come when your doing something great. Hard work comes when the dream is great and the greater the dream the harder the work. Nas had a song name You Can Hate Me Now that ft. Piddy and this song proves my point let them hate. But don't let it stop your progress or work, because that is what they want. I'm on top you can either encourage me or hate either way I'm reaching that top. We need to stop hurting each other and learn to live together and start helping each other and stop tearing each other down. We all have to live in this world and if I destroy you and teach that to the future then what hope does our future have? Tell me why does it make us laugh to see others fall and why does the last word have to be so painful? We can raise the bar of greatness and change the effect we are putting into play. We can make the world a better place and a place so kings be just that kings. My queens take your place and be re-crowned as Queens that you are.

OPEN YOUR EYES, HE SPEAKS FOR US ALL

For many it's not enough to have a dream or to have a vision. For many generations the very thought of this was unheard of and even a joke. Many years of struggle and hope to just be equal was a battle in itself. Then one day came the hope of a nation and new chance to right the wrongs for all generations and races. The thought was crazy but the hope brought many to smiles and some to tears. The image of this man with brilliance not yet seen, and a vision so far from the plans before him. November 5, 2009 he became the 44th President and the leader of a falling nation, but the question wasn't if he could change the nation but when? I remember the tears in my mothers eyes and the fact my grandmother would never see this day but the prayer was complete. The work was ahead of him the struggles were just beginning for him and his beautiful family. I sat in front of my television set and saw the thousands upon thousands in the park that night in Chicago. All waiting to hear from him and the millions more that were glued to the television sets waiting to see him. I could hear the boo's from Arizona as they made the announcement, and apart of me was ashamed of the place I live.

Now when he is making changes he is being pushed harder and harder by people we never saw pressure coming from. A preacher saying over the pulpit he " hates him" such strong words from a man who should know better. The very thought of him not taking it back it's heart breaking hate for what? Now a president who cares about education is being booted out of speaking to the young minds of today. So much objection when our children are already expose to so much, I mean we will let them watch graphic shows and listen to lyrics filled with junk. Rather then have them inspired to do better by a true leader. Finally a voice that speaks directly for us is facing so much opposition these problems didn't occur over night. Guess what they won't be fixed over night either! We voted and came to together now we need to stand together for our leader and for the change we want. He can't do it alone these problems didn't happen cause of one man but do to many. Former president Bush was by far some of the worst of things in office yet people showed him more support then President Obama. Makes you wonder why we wanted change and now we have it and don't appreciate it for it's worth.

Change comes to those who fight for it
Results comes to those who refuse to leave until they see them
A struggles is a sign that your close to what you want
You never can change the world from your bed
Nor can you motivate spouting negativity
You have to inspire from actions of motivation
A leader is put to the test daily, while his follower are only tested often
Faith happens and occurs when things look the worse
We stood in lines and waited for days to get the chance to be heard
Decades of wondering when change was going to come
Tears of joy and pride fell from the eyes
Who understood what that day meant
Understood the sacrifice and pain for that moment in time
The great leaders that have passed away would never see their dreams living today
The hope that made them raise every morning for a chance at opportunity
Open your eyes he speaks for us all
It's not Black or White but a nation in trouble
Don't blame me if you let this pass
We have a chance to prove we can do better
We all have ways of doing better and making a difference
Open your eyes he speaks for us all

Just Something To Think About

“Convey to the world a vastly different picture of the Black male” words spoken by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. When he was speaking of the Million man March that took place in 1995 in Washington, D.C. This march wasn't just to show the unity of brotherhood but to educate the world of the issues that plagues black America. This march was in one word inspirational and gave hope to those who didn't know that the power of change comes from those who are wiling to challenge, fight, and strive beyond its struggle. This march wasn't about placing blame on the government for our struggles but placing the responsibilities in our hands and taking back control. This movement proved that we can come together and stand for something, and it proved that we as a people do want better and strive to be better them the limitations placed on us. This movement inspired change in those who were there, watched and heard this powerful man speak about the world we live in. The conditions we live and challenge us to change the way we do things. Many men looking for guidance found it that day have strived to do better ever since then.

I looked around yesterday and it seemed like the first in years that I noticed the diverse world we live. How we are all striving for better and looking for guidance anywhere we can find it. I have been curious about a lot of things in my youth and the power we as people have over not only our lives but those around us. I can't stand television most days anymore everywhere you look there is another stereotyped and judgmental show that portrays the black community as less then. How we have fallen to rise to fall to rise. We have become use to saying our President is black but what does that mean? That we have someone who looks like us now? That we have raised the bar and expectations on the races and no more excuses?

"I am America. I am the part you won't recognize. But get used to me. Black, confident, cocky; my name, not yours; my religion, not yours; my goals, my own; get used to me." (Muhammad Ali) I didn't really understand that quote at first but now I do and I think we should all live by these words. We need to take back our own and start owning up to our potential as a people and community. We should take pride in that our President is Black, but he wasn't given the White Hose it took hard work and dedication to the cause he was fighting for. The vision provided that set his path he didn't stray from or hide from because of his race or the limitations set before him.

You know James Baldwin once said "People pay for what they do and still more for what they have allowed themselves to become. And they pay for it very simply; by the lives they lead." We have not because we strive not to have. We rather claim that we are victims of slavery and that our minds are still shackled. I don't have any chains on me and my thinking it's free as the day. So why are you bound even now after history has been made and we have the rights so many never got the chance to see?

Change comes when your tired of the same and when your ready for it. Change doesn't happen over night but with work and Patience it will come. It's not just important that we live as examples but we provide wisdom for those coming up. We must give them more hope then what we had so they can provide more hope for those to come. "The question is not whether we can afford to invest in every child; it is whether we can afford not to.” (Marian Wright Edelman) The truth is no we can't afford to let the youth of America continue on the path they are on. The answers we don't have the drug dealer has, and the pimp and world we don't want to lose them in. Now more then ever we should be striving to do better and be better then before.

Enough Now it Should Stop Here

We just live everyday not really embracing what gift we have until something tragic happens to bring it into focus. We often think that we have all the time in the world to accomplish our dreams, fall in love, get married, and even have children. We often don't seem to notice that the world around us is turning against us until it too late. Violence seem to be an old favorite and yet more and more lives are lost to the senseless act. You don't think that a simple argument will end your life, or even a simple misunderstanding will keep you from coming home.

That a simple moment in passing with someone will keep you from seeing your love ones again. And the old time favorite just because you look different and think different your a target. Roderick Anthony Burton II, aka Dolla I wonder how bad that argument could have been to cost him his life? I wonder why he didn't get the chance to live his dream and be the big star hip hop wanted hm to be? I don't understand why he died for something so small, but then the question of a set up comes to mind. How is it the suspect know where he was headed did he act alone and when did he have time to get the weapon and track him down? When is enough really and truly enough? How many more lives have to be lost before we come together and stop this needless killing of one another. I use to hear that the youth are the future but if we are all six feet under or behind bars who is going to lead this country? Another thing what are we teaching those coming up about the world they live in. Can we really trust that they will be safe and that they won't be affected by the cruel world.

Then you have to worry about all the things you can't predict or see coming. Like the people on that Friday morning in Binghamton, New York who were just minding their own business. Locked and barricaded in the American Civic Association and a man by the name of Jiverly Voong took 13 lives including his own for what? Then in Pittsburgh a man went on a spree of his own after losing his job. The police thought they were just responding to a domestic disturbance call, and find themselves in a gun fight leaving many officers wounded. I often wonder why we have to resort to such things to get our point across. You feel that you have been disrespected to mistreated why must someone die for that? I mean really now you have added pain and grief to someone else, and then what they should just understand to you were hurt. That you were in a bad place and needed vengeance of your injustice but what about them? Where does it end ; We have to learn to deal with people and things differently, now I'm not saying to live in fear and avoid human contact. but to think before you speak and think twice before causing pain on someone. We need to come together for a solution on how to end this violence. We need to come up with solutions to prevent things like this from happening, and look at the warning signs. Don't be afraid to ask for help or get someone help if you know they have anger management issues or just a ticking time bomb.
If that's not enough now we have the audacity to tape and film these acts of violence. these young people are getting the impression that it's cool to be cruel and that it's instant fame. We feed into this every time we click on the link or turn the other cheek. "Kids will be kids" I dislike this saying so much and the thinking that they will out grow that behavior is wrong. We have more children bullied now more then ever and they are taking their lives and the bullies life. Many innocent children are hit in the cross fire and all it takes is one person to listen. All it takes is one person to stand up and say enough is enough and make these school accountable for what happens on campus. We need parents to be more involved. When I was younger and in school my mother would randomly just show up on campus and see where I was and what me and my sister were learning. Not because we were bad or anything but if you don't show an interest most of these teachers won't either. My mother would just come to the school and surprise us to keep us in line and those in authority over us in line. We need to do better and start striving for change if we want a future.
